Brick Atmosphere is an exhibition of cut paper, prints, and kite artwork by Alice Thompson developed during her artist residency at the Tacony LAB in Fall 2018. The works are inspired by the community and the architecture in Tacony.
The intricate brick and mortar patterns of Tacony’s Castle Row were translated into cut paper by the artist. The imagery of Castle Row evolves into a large cut paper installation on councilman Bobby Henon’s office window on Torresdale Ave. , and appears in a repeat pattern fabric that Alice created at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in the Spring 2019 Apprentice Training Program. Some selections of student work created during her workshop will also be on display.
